The popular Dancing with Geneva Stars returns on Saturday, February 6, 2010 with a new cast of dancers. The local celebrity teams are already in rehearsal preparing their dances in hopes of generating enough votes to become the 2010 champion of Dancing with Geneva Stars. The February 2009 event received rave reviews from those attending…“fabulous evening”, “amazing”, “impressive” and “one of the great fundraisers ever staged in this area” were just some of the comments received from those attending the sold-out event. The committee anticipates another sold-out event generating funds to support the Cultural Arts Committee and the Geneva Academic Foundation. Ticket reservations and voting will begin on January 4, 2010. The price of admission will remain $35.00 with a limited number of reserved tables of 10 for $500.
The 2010 Dancing with Geneva Stars teams are David & Shawn Ginsberg (Cha-Cha); Weldon Johnson & Joanne Buckley (Quickstep); Matt & Kimberly Lennert (Tango); Tim & Barb Moran (Waltz); Harry & Marcia Smith (Swing); and Jim & Susan VanderVeen (Salsa).
The public will be able to cast as many votes as they like either by returning the mailed invitation, visiting the CAC web site after January 4, or attending the benefit on February 6, 2010 at Eagle Brook Country Club. Every dollar contributed is one “vote”. Last year, the net profit from votes contributed generated $11,474 to benefit cultural arts and the Geneva Academic Foundation.
