The 2013 performance of Shakespeare in the Park will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Island Park. Two sets of twins, mistaken identities and comical situations are the focus of this summer’s Shakespeare in the Park performance in Island Park. The Midsummer Theater Troupe will perform “The Comedy of Errors.” Admission to Shakespeare in the Park is free; a $5 donation is suggested. Free parking is available at the government center on First Street. It’s just a short walk across the covered bridge across the Fox River to Island Park. Seating begins at 5 p.m. and is “Ravinia-style”; those attending should bring blankets and chairs as well as picnics. (more…)

The 2013 RiverPark Summer Series hosts outdoor concerts on select Sundays in July.
The “Summer Series” is sponsored by Geneva Cultural Arts Commission. All concerts are free of charge, begin at 7 p.m. and take place at the Amphitheater at the RiverPark of Geneva, Peyton Street and N. River Lane.  Bring folding chairs, pads or a picnic blanket for comfort. riverparkofgeneva.com

Dancing with the Geneva Stars was held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Eaglebrook Country Club. The annual fundraiser for the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission and the Geneva Academic Foundation raised $18,500. Dorothy Flanagan and Sam Hill took home the 1st place trophy.
